Living in Sydney Australia for most of my life, as a child I experienced the delights of my mum concocting her incredible treats for our family and friends. Hanging out in our kitchen was the popular thing to do and as a result, I developed a perfect memory for making many of my mother’s recipes, my favorite being her toffee.

After years of going from one job to another and not being fulfilled by any of them, I decided to make a drastic change in my life. It was December 1999 and I was working in the construction industry when I made that life changing decision to follow my passion and start Shaymee’s Aussie Toffee, Inc., in honor and in memory of my mum, Mary Shaymee. Against the advice of my family and friends and with no experience, I set out to follow my dreams. At the time I only had $1000 to my name, one credit card with $2500 available, and the belief that I had the best tasting toffee. As time went on I learned that there was much more to starting a business than I had realized. I found out in a hurry that it would take all that I had and more to succeed. The thought of going back to the work I was doing before was a great motivator for me to get through all of the obstacles...failure was not an option! In the beginning I started selling at local farmer’s markets and in my 3rd week of the business I landed Whole Foods. To this day, our products can be found in many large retailers across the country; Fred Meyer’s, Raley’s and Whole Foods to name a few.

Our mission is to produce the finest and unique Australian treats. With a continued commitment to incorporating premium natural ingredients and promoting business practices that not only respect the Environment and the Earth but also give back to our communities. We are truly committed to providing excellence in our products and customer service; without compromise. Our handmade confections are produced in small batches, with the same love and passion my mother had many years ago. Recently, we have expanded our line of toffees to include truffles with many other wonderful treats to delight the palette and soul. As we continue to increase our product line, I made the decision to change our name to Shaymee’s Aussie Treats, Inc., to encompass the wide array of quality products we will be adding.
